Geotextiles are great fabrics that can be used for a variety of projects.

They help provide a layer between sub base layers and help with load bearing.

Depending on the type of geotextile your using they can also have additional benefits.

How to install your geotextile fabric

  1. Prepare the ground – Ensure the area is levelled and firm. Remove and plants or large rocks. Depending on your project you may want to remove any soil too.
  2. Un fold or unroll you fabric making sure its flat to the ground. Make sure you plan where you want the fabric first so that joints and overlap sections are to a minimum.
  3. Is you fabric in place? Then get it secured down. Make sure any joints and edges are well pinned down. Again depending on your project this may be secured by your next base layer.
  4. Continue with the rest of your project.
