Separation
The membrane can be used to keep two sub base layers separate. e.g. sand and soil bases
What is it?
Used for projects like horse arenas, patios, artificial grass and shed bases.
How does it work?
A geotextile separation layer will stop different sub base layers mixing over time. If sub base layers move they can cause cracking, ruts and pitting in the top surface. A fabric geotextile can help to distribute loading and will stop layer mixing over time.
Filtration
The membrane can be used to keep soil and dry sub base layers in place but allow water to flow through. This will stop the movement of dry particles and keep them in place as water moves through.
What is it?
Used for such things like soakaway systems, French drains and drainage projects.
How does it work?
A geotextile filtration layer will allow water to move through your base layers. The geotextile will act as a filter allowing water to move but keep the sand/soil/aggregate layers in place. Allowing base layers to stay intact over time.
